1 Who operates Hoodlo
Hoodlo is operated by Jasply Pty Ltd (ABN 99 702 948 687; ABN active from 19 October 2026), referred to as Hoodlo, we, us or our. General and legal enquiries: admin@jasply.com. Privacy enquiries: admin@jasply.com.
These Terms apply to the Hoodlo application, website and related community services. They include the Alert Posting Rules in section 4. Member content means alerts, confirmations, cleared reports, comments, replies, photographs, videos and other material submitted by members. Official content means information attributed to a government agency or other identified external provider.
Document set 2026-10-24.2. The effective date is shown above. You enter this agreement when you actively accept these Terms. We will make the accepted version available to you. Our Privacy Policy explains our information practices; accepting these Terms is not blanket consent to unrelated marketing or other uses requiring separate consent.
2 Age eligibility and account responsibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a Hoodlo account, post content or act through another account. Parental permission does not create an exception. Do not misrepresent your age or help someone under 18 bypass this requirement. We may take proportionate steps to check eligibility and restrict an account where we reasonably believe the requirement is not met.
Provide accurate account information, protect your login details and tell us promptly if your account is compromised. You are responsible for activity you authorise and for taking reasonable account-security precautions. You are not automatically responsible for unauthorised activity caused by our security failure.
If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to do so. Do not impersonate an agency, council, emergency worker, business or another member. Verification badges identify the particular check described by Hoodlo; they do not grant professional qualifications, operating approvals or emergency powers.
Where mobile verification is required during account setup, provide a mobile number you control and complete the verification before participating. Email/password remains the sign-in method. SMS verification checks control of a number; it does not verify age, identity, authority or the truth of a report. Do not share verification codes or use a number without authority. Contact admin@jasply.com if you lose access to your number.
3 Emergencies and safe use
Hoodlo provides community information. It does not provide an emergency dispatch, rescue, medical, police, road-management or continuous monitoring service. Posting, confirming, commenting on or reporting an alert does not contact emergency services, even if a post is marked urgent or official.
In an emergency in Australia, call Triple Zero (000). Outside Australia, use the local emergency number. Follow emergency-service instructions, official warnings, road signs and directions from lawful authorities. Do not wait for Hoodlo, a notification or a moderator to respond.
Do not operate Hoodlo while driving or in any other situation where using it would be unsafe or unlawful. A passenger may report safely. Never approach a crash, flood, fire, dangerous animal or suspected offender to obtain a photograph, improve a location or satisfy a reporting distance. Do not trespass, obstruct responders or enter a closed road. Geographic eligibility is not permission to enter an area.
Use reasonable care and your own judgement. Hoodlo should not be your only source for a safety-critical decision. An empty map, missing alert, expired report, cleared status or lack of notification does not establish that a place is safe.
4 Alert Posting Rules
4.1 Report honestly. Submit information you reasonably believe is accurate and current. State what you actually observed, when you observed it and any relevant uncertainty. Do not claim to have witnessed something you did not witness. If the reporting feature permits a report based on another source, identify that source and distinguish it clearly from your own observations.
4.2 Use the correct category, actual incident location and observation time. Do not falsify GPS, backdate an event, exaggerate its severity, create duplicate alerts for attention, manipulate confirmations or knowingly mark an active hazard as cleared. A confirm or cleared action must have a reasonable factual basis; passing a distance check alone is not evidence.
4.3 Protect people. Do not identify a private individual as an offender or publish speculation about their involvement in a crime. Report relevant conduct and hazards without naming, shaming or inviting confrontation. Send identifying evidence to police through an appropriate channel. Do not post home addresses, private location trails, victim details, children's identities, number plates or other identifying information unless necessary, lawful and appropriate for the permitted public report.
4.4 Use media lawfully. Only upload material you own or are authorised to share, with any necessary permissions. Remove unnecessary identifying details and location metadata where possible. Do not use misleading edits, old footage presented as current, fabricated evidence or AI-generated images presented as incident evidence. Clearly label illustrative material where the feature allows it.
4.5 Keep reporting safe. Do not create, worsen or stage a hazard, encourage vigilantism, interfere with an investigation or reveal tactical details that could place someone at risk. Do not disturb wildlife or disclose sensitive wildlife locations where doing so creates a risk of harm.
4.6 Correct errors. If you learn that a material part of your post is wrong, outdated or misleading, promptly use the available correction or reporting tools, or contact us. Never return to danger to check a report. If you cannot verify that a hazard has cleared, say so rather than guessing.
4.7 Take responsibility for your contribution. You are responsible for the content you submit and for complying with these Rules and applicable law. You may be legally responsible for knowingly false, defamatory, unlawful or rights-infringing content. Hoodlo displaying your post does not certify it or transfer that responsibility to Hoodlo. Our own legal responsibilities remain subject to section 14.
5 Prohibited conduct and content
Do not submit threats, harassment, stalking, hate or discriminatory abuse, sexually exploitative or non-consensual intimate material, unlawful graphic content, scams, malicious links, personal information used to target someone, or content prohibited by law. Do not encourage violence, self-appointed enforcement, dangerous driving, unlawful drone use or interference with emergency services.
Do not infringe copyright, confidentiality, privacy or other legal rights. Do not evade moderation, create accounts to manipulate trust or reactions, use bots to fabricate activity, access another person's account, attack the service or bypass technical restrictions. Do not use alerts or comments for unrelated advertising, undisclosed promotion or spam. Lawful criticism of Hoodlo and good-faith complaints are permitted.
6 Official information and information limits
Reports and external feeds may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed or unavailable. Conditions can change before a report is published or seen. Some providers intentionally delay publication. Source attribution, an official label, moderation, a verification badge or a Trust Score does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or continuing validity of a particular item. A displayed 100% score is not a promise of certainty or safety.
Maps, pins, GPS positions, affected-road lines, boundaries and calculated distances may be approximate. They may indicate a section or representative location rather than an exact point. Map filtering, viewing radius, notification settings and device permissions can affect what you see or receive. No representation is made that every relevant event or notification will be displayed or delivered.
Fuel prices are information from the identified source and may change or be unavailable when you arrive. An alternative fuel grade must be read under its own label and is not a claim that fuels are interchangeable. Confirm the product, price and suitability with the station and your vehicle requirements.
AEDs, safety equipment, facilities and council offices may be closed, inaccessible, moved or unavailable. A listing does not establish that equipment is present, maintained or working. Follow emergency operators and equipment instructions. A directions link does not establish that a route or destination is safe, open or publicly accessible.
Crime statistics are historical totals for the stated area and reporting period. They are not live incidents, offences at the station address or evidence against an individual. Drone listings and document checks are not flight permissions or a substitute for current aviation rules.
Third-party content remains subject to its stated attribution and licence conditions. A listing, source name or logo does not imply that its owner endorses Hoodlo. These explanations do not exclude rights preserved by section 14 or excuse a failure by Hoodlo to meet its own legal obligations.
7 Location and privacy
Only provide location information you are authorised to provide. Do not use Hoodlo to track another person without lawful authority. Device permissions and the location-sharing settings offered by the service govern relevant location features. Denying a permission may limit those features; it does not authorise unrelated collection.
A public report can reveal its incident location, observation details and any profile information displayed with it. Consider what you are making public before posting. Do not include sensitive medical details, private addresses or information about children that is unnecessary for the report.
Our Privacy Policy and relevant collection notices explain how we handle account data, precise location, content, moderation records, service providers, retention, overseas handling and requests for access or deletion. Personal information is not made freely reusable merely because these Terms contain a content licence.
8 Your content and our limited licence
You retain ownership of your original content. You grant Jasply Pty Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format and display that content, and to distribute it through Hoodlo's ordinary features, to operate, secure and provide the service. We may allow our service providers to perform those functions for us. You must have the rights needed to grant this licence.
The licence permits necessary technical changes, such as resizing an image, and safety or privacy redactions. It does not permit us to falsely change what you reported. It does not authorise selling your identity, using your content in unrelated advertising, training general-purpose AI models on your content or implying your endorsement. Any additional use requiring permission must be dealt with separately.
The operational licence ends when the content is removed from our active service, except to the extent reasonably needed for existing lawful shares, security records, backups or legal retention described in our Privacy Policy. Public copies independently made by other people may remain beyond our control. Those copies are not permission for unlawful use. Official data and other third-party material remain governed by their own licences.
9 Moderation and complaints
We may review, label, limit distribution of, correct, pause or remove content where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, address credible safety or rights concerns, comply with law or protect the service. We may act before completing a review where delay could create harm. We do not promise to pre-screen every post or monitor every report continuously. This does not limit any legal obligation to act.
Use the relevant report control or contact admin@jasply.com. Give the content link or identifier, what is wrong, any supporting information and a way to contact you. Do not place confidential evidence in a public comment. Urgent threats should also be reported to emergency services or police as appropriate.
You may ask us to review a moderation decision using admin@jasply.com. Where lawful and appropriate, we will explain the relevant reason and consider material supplied in support of a review. We may withhold information where disclosure could breach law, expose private information or compromise safety or an investigation.
We may preserve relevant records and disclose information where required or authorised by law, consistently with our Privacy Policy. These Terms do not create automatic immunity for Hoodlo or prevent you from contacting a regulator, police, a tribunal or a court.
10 Suspension and ending an account
We may restrict or suspend an account on reasonable grounds, including a serious or repeated breach, credible safety or security risk, fraud, unlawful activity or failure to meet the age requirement. Our response should be proportionate. Where practicable we will give notice and an opportunity to respond; urgent safety, legal or security action may occur first.
You may stop using Hoodlo and request account closure or deletion through the available account controls or our privacy contact. Removal and legally justified retention are addressed in the Privacy Policy. Ending an account does not remove rights or liabilities that already arose, and does not create a penalty for exercising consumer or complaint rights.
11 Hoodlo intellectual property and outside services
We and our licensors retain rights in the Hoodlo name, artwork, software and service design. You may use them as reasonably necessary for permitted use of Hoodlo and sharing through the service. You must not copy or exploit them commercially outside that permitted use without permission, except where the law allows it.
Outside map, navigation, app-store and other linked services may have their own terms and privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. You remain free to exercise any rights you have against the relevant supplier. Hoodlo remains responsible for its own conduct and obligations.
12 Availability and changes to features
We may make reasonable service changes for maintenance, security, compliance or improvement, and may experience outages or source failures. We will not describe an unavailable feed or feature as currently verified merely because it previously operated. We do not guarantee continuous access or uninterrupted notification delivery.
These Terms do not authorise an undisclosed charge or activate a paid service. If paid features are introduced, the price, recurring payment terms, cancellation process and applicable refund rights must be disclosed before you expressly agree to purchase. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.
13 Personal responsibility for decisions
You decide whether and how to act on information, subject to law and lawful directions. Do not treat a member's opinion, a confirmation, a suggested route or a Trust Score as a professional safety assessment. You remain responsible for your own unlawful or unsafe actions. This clause does not make you responsible for loss caused by Hoodlo's breach of a legal duty or remove rights under section 14.
14 Consumer rights and limits of responsibility
14.1 Non-excludable rights. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Those rights prevail over an inconsistent term. You do not waive a legal right simply by accepting a warning or posting confirmation.
14.2 Our own conduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability to the extent caused by our fraud, wilful misconduct or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill. We remain responsible for obligations the law places on us, including any applicable consumer, privacy and online-safety obligations.
14.3 Information from other people. Subject to 14.1 and 14.2, we do not guarantee a member's report or external provider's information and are not responsible for loss caused solely by another person's unlawful content, an independent source error or a user's unsafe or unlawful act. This limitation does not apply to the extent our own breach or other conduct makes us legally responsible.
14.4 Additional promises and loss. To the extent lawful, we exclude warranties not expressly given by us or imposed by law. Subject to 14.1 and 14.2, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when this agreement was made. This does not exclude a remedy the law provides, impose a zero-dollar liability cap or convert a foreseeable personal injury or other recoverable loss into an excluded loss by labelling it indirect.
14.5 Fair application. Each limitation operates only to the extent it is lawful and fair in the circumstances. It does not transfer our negligence or statutory responsibilities to a member, official source or equipment operator. If a limitation cannot legally apply to a claim, the remaining lawful terms continue to operate.
15 Deliberate unlawful posts and third party claims
To the extent lawful, you agree to reimburse Jasply Pty Ltd for reasonable direct loss, compensation payable to a third party and reasonable legal costs, to the extent caused by your fraud, knowingly false alert, deliberate unlawful posting or intentional infringement of another person's rights. This obligation applies only to amounts finally determined by a court or agreed in a settlement you approved.
It does not cover an honest mistake made in good faith, ordinary use of the service, or loss caused or contributed to by us or our personnel. Any amount must be reduced to reflect our contribution and payments already recovered for the same loss. We must take reasonable steps to minimise loss, notify you of a claim promptly and allow a reasonable opportunity to participate in its response. We cannot bind you to a settlement without your consent, which must not be unreasonably withheld. Your non-excludable rights remain intact.
16 Disputes and governing law
Please contact admin@jasply.com with the issue, relevant records and the outcome you seek so we can try to resolve it. This request is not a mandatory waiting period, a shortened claim deadline or a restriction on urgent relief, regulator complaints, consumer remedies or access to a court or tribunal.
The laws of Queensland, Australia govern these Terms. Courts with jurisdiction in Queensland have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not take away mandatory protections or rights to bring a claim in another competent court or tribunal available to you under applicable law. International access does not waive local consumer or other mandatory rights.
17 Changes and contact
We may update these Terms for legitimate service, safety, legal or regulatory reasons. We will identify the new version and effective date, give reasonable advance notice of material changes where practicable, and seek renewed agreement where required. Urgent legal or safety changes may take effect sooner with an explanation. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights or apply a new indemnity to earlier conduct.
If you do not agree to a material change, you may stop using the affected service and close your account without a penalty under these Terms. Any prepaid entitlement and refund must be handled consistently with applicable law. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it is severed only to the necessary extent; we do not replace it with a broader restriction.
